Academic Exchange ¡¡ - ¡®Elkem Workshop on Application of Silica Fume (China)¡¯ on 7 November, 2008 in Beijing Introduction
- 5 international experts from Canada, Norway, UK and 15 Chinese experts presented the recent progress of cement & concrete technology for sustainable development. - About 300 participants from institutes, universities, and companies, attended the 6-day seminar.
Outcome This is the first workshop held in China, and it brings together both international and Chinese experts to present and discuss advances in the state-of-the-art in sustainable development of cement and concrete technology. Introduction

technology for sustainable development. Outcome - This workshop focused on the theme of ¡®Safety, Durability, and Sustainability¡¯ addressing the key issues in the cement and concrete sector, and this is the second workshop was held in China. - The academic exchange greatly aroused the awareness and promoted the technologies of sustainable development in cement and concrete sector in China, including CO2 emission reduction. participants from institutes and companies attended this
workshop with seven lectures from experts from UK and China.
Outcome - This workshop is intended to give engineers, designers and concrete technologists a better understanding of silica fume and its use in concrete.
- This workshop provided a
practical guidance of silica fume for designers and concrete technologists,
with real-world examples and solutions based on experience. What¡¯s more
important, through this workshop, designers and concrete technologists got
the full potential from silica fume. ¡¡ Introduction
¡¡ - 7 international experts from Canada, Japan, Norway, USA and 10 Chinese experts presenting the latest progress on cement & concrete technology for sustainable development. - About 500 participants from institutes, universities, and companies, attended the 6-day seminar.
Outcome - ¡®Safety, Durability, and Sustainability¡¯ is the main theme of this workshop. - Aiming to reducing CO2 emission and enhancing energy efficiency, this workshop also puts more concerns on the post-disaster reconstruction of the Sichuan province. This is the third workshop organized to put effort contributing to the sustainability of cement and concrete industry. ¡¡ |
