About ICM | Introduction | Structure | Mission | Objectives | Business Scope | Service | Strengths | Brief IntroductionUNIDO International Center for Materials Technology Promotion (ICM) was established by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in June 2002 with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China, and China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE) under the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) of China, with its headquarters located in Beijing. Within the legal framework of UNIDO, ICM is the first international center established by UNIDO in the materials field of China. The counterpart of ICM is China Building Materials Academy (CBMA). Organizational Structure
Mission ●To enhance the sustainability of the materials sector of industry through promotion, transfer and absorption of technological advances and innovations. ● To encourage new investments in this industrial sector of the developing countries. ●To reduce the negative impact of materials sector of industry on environment (pollution, gas emission, energy consumption, etc.) through application of new technologies and innovations. ●To facilitate the diffusion of new environmentally sound technologies and innovations in the materials industry of the developing countries through building up/strengthening their institutional and technological capacity for technology diffusion and international technology transfer framework. ●To foster South-South and North-South cooperation and partnerships and help the developing countries benefit from the research and technological advances in materials industry.
